Why now

Waits are at an all-time high

Pressure on radiology departments are at an all-time high. The NHS is still recovering from the COVID backlog, and there is a nation-wide drive to increase cancer screenings. This is combined with a deficit of over 2000 radiology consultants across the UK.

Why now

...And they’re set to get worse

In November 2022 it was announced GPs will gain direct access to imaging for critical scans. This is intended to improve patient outcomes but will flood radiology with more requests, increase the burden on the already overwhelmed system.

Our Plan

The Road to Serenity

The idea for Flute Medical was hatched in late 2022, by five Design Engineering students from Imperial College London, who envisioned a better future for public healthcare. We are only at the start of our journey and have a long way to go, but we have great support from our advisors, and a well defined plan to reach our goals.

Letter of Intent

We have received a letter of intent from the Dr. Andrew Hatrick, the Chief of Radiology at Frimley Health Foundation Trust, expressing the trust's interest in piloting Serenity, and entering commercial engagement if the predicted savings are acheived.

Sales Strategy

We will sell using a ‘bottom-up’ approach, deploying Serenity one trust at a time, beginning with the locations where we are conducting our research.

Sales

Selling Savings

Serenity will be charged for on a subscription-for-features basis, where trusts will pay an annual access fee for the features they would like to use. The subscription fee is scaled based on predicted annual savings for each trust.
